FGSC has its own established Comet Open Meeting which is well attended by Club sailors and visitors alike. Comets are a popular choice for smaller adults, particularly ladies, who wish to try their hand at single-handed sailing. The Comet can be ideal for beginners and lightweights. Having been built for twenty years, there are fleets at many clubs and the active Class Association. Deceptively fast dinghy in light winds, the decent sail area and light hull ensure an exciting ride in a breeze! At only 50kg hull weight and using a two-piece mast, the Comet will easily car-top.
