Whether just messing about in boats, having fun off a beach, learning to sail, flat out blasting or competitive racing, there are so many reasons for choosing the fantastic Topper! It requires little maintenance, is easily rigged in a matter of minutes, is rugged and safe for beginners and an exciting race boat too as your skills develop and it is car-toppable! It truly is the most versatile of sailboats!

Toppers at Fishers Green
The Topper fleet was officially launched in 2010 at Fishers Green Sailing Club with a small fleet of eight boats. The club has a number of club Topper boats for use for members and individuals looking at joining too.
There is a principal aim of the fleet to have fun on the water and race most Saturdays throughout the year. Club training is offered from beginners to intermediate levels with outside technical expertise from leading coaches from around the country including Dave Cockerill (RYA National Topper Coach).
All of the current Topper sailors are part of the successful Youth fleet at Fishers Green SC but the class is able to be sailed/raced by all ages.

Class Association - International Topper Class Association - GBR
ITCA (GBR) has been around since 1976 and currently has around 700 members. We really enjoy our position as being regarded as The Friendly Class, not only amongst the sailors, but also shore-side parents and supporters who are always happy to help one another and promote good sportsmanship.
Although the Topper is predominantly sailed by juniors and enjoys the position as part of the RYA Junior Pathway programme, we have sailors of all ages at our events. The current suggested weight guideline is between 47 and 63kg, but again there are many sailors either side of this guideline enjoying sailing their Topper and competing at a high standard.
The introduction of the smaller 4.2m sail has brought younger and lighter sailors into the Topper. We now have a dedicated National Championship for Topper 4.2 sailors, which is a fantastic introduction to Topper sailing before moving onto the larger and more powerful 5.3m rig.
